Crossing the Jordan

Crossing the Jordan with a multitude of people was not an easy task. Men, women and children in standing in a long line!

The one watching from above answers Joshua's request and makes possible the crossing of the Jordan by a miracle.

The flow of water from the higher level – Sea of Galilee – to the lowest place on earth – the Dead Sea – has to stop in order for the children of Israel to cross.

The promised miracle is about to happen. The flow of water stops and the visitors to the garden walk across on dry land.

(Let's quote the scriptures from Joshua chapter 3.)

Null

And now take yourselves twelve men out of the tribes of Israel, one man each out of every tribe. And it shall come to pass, that as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests that bear the ark of the Lord, the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan shall be cut off, namely, the waters that come down from above; and they shall stand up as a wall. (Joshua 3:12-13 [Leeser])
